Vegan Dining Options in Stowe, Vermont

Recently, we received a message from an Instagram follower who was vegan and was having a difficult time finding places to eat in Stowe! We helped come up with some options, and thought that it was important to share with the rest of our readers as well. Vacationing with dietary restrictions can be hard, especially in such a meat driven state! However, Stowe has plenty of vegan options and we hope this guide helps you stay relaxed and find places to eat!

In each description, we have linked to the online menus so you can easily search and see if it will be a good fit for you. They are not in an order of the most popular choices, as we did it by geographic location (Lower Village, the Village, and up Mountain Road). We still recommend letting your server know you are vegan, just in case there have been small changes to any dish we may have mentioned. Please feel free to let us know if you find additional options that we can add to this guide! Enjoy & happy eating!!

Green Goddess Cafe ~ 618 South Main Street, Stowe VT 05672

Perfect for breakfast or lunch, Green Goddess offers wraps, salads & sandwiches. They have some tofu options, customizable salads and many items that can be made vegan.

Café on Main ~ 38 Main Street, Stowe VT 05672

On a tip from another one of our Instagram followers, we found out that Café on Main has a great selection of vegan soups. They change daily, so be sure to go check it out for lunch if you are in town!

Plate ~ 91 Main Street, Stowe VT 05672

The menu at Plate changes seasonally, but it is highly recommended for fine dining vegan options. For example, their current Winter 2017 menu has an appetizer of Vegan Crab Cakes (hearts of palm and old bay and lemon cashew aioli) and a main course of a Curry Roasted Cauliflower “Steak” with a Beet Squash Puree. They almost always have a few vegan specific dishes, and they always have roasted tofu as a protein add on. We highly recommend you make a reservation ahead of time, as it is a small restaurant and fills up quickly.

Doc Ponds ~ 294 Mountain Road, Stowe VT 05672

Whenever we eat at Doc Ponds, we always get a bunch of small plates & sides to share for the table. The Hummus dip is one of our favorites, as well as the Roasted Carrots. The menu changes pretty regularly, but there are always some great vegan options at Doc Ponds!

Ranch Camp ~ 311 Mountain Road, Stowe VT 05672

New to the restaurant scene is Ranch Camp. It’s part mountain bike shop, and part restaurant and bar. Most of their menu is vegan friendly, and everything we have tried so far has been delicious. The Hippie Fries are a must!

The Bench ~ 492 Mountain Road, Stowe VT 05672

This is a great place to go for dinner! The Bench has many tasty options, but you may need to make some slight modifications to some of the dishes (no cheese, etc). The Rezitarian, which is their homemade veggie burger, is awesome!

Piecasso ~ 1899 Mountain Road, Stowe VT 05672

One of our favorite meals at Piecasso, is surprisingly their Spinach Salad. We love their pasta & pizza too, but it’s one of our favorite salads in town! Just get it without the Chèvre, and it can be vegan! The Hummus Flatbread is also delicious!

Flannel ~ 4000 Mountain Road, Stowe VT 05672

Another fine dining option, Flannel at Topnotch Resort has many options for vegans. Some may need a few modifications, but they are not extraordinary. We also recommend that you call ahead and make a reservation!

Zenbarn ~ 179 Guptil Road, Waterbury Center VT 05677

While it is technically in Waterbury (not Stowe), Zenbarn needs to be on this list as it might be one of the best options for vegan diners in the area. While the menu changes frequently, there are a ton of different vegan dishes and other options that can easily be made vegan. We highly recommend checking this place out even though it is a little further away! The Zen Spring Rolls (butternut squash, ginger, lemongrass & spices maple coconut sauce) are super awesome!
