The Roost is a casual dinner spot located at Topnotch Resort. It is a great place for both a date night and for families. They’ve got a patio with gorgeous views of Mt. Mansfield, a bocce ball court and a nice lawn space for kids to play while they are waiting for dinner. Even if the weather isn’t great, there is a beautiful Shuffleboard table indoors which makes for a fun night!
What’s Good?
The Topnotch Margarita: The signature cocktails at Topnotch are some of the best in town, and this margarita will not let you down! It’s served on the rocks with Hornitos Tequila, Grand Marnier, Lime Juice & Spicy Agave. It’s got just enough of a kick without being too spicy. It’s a must have on a Summer night!
Crispy Brussels Sprouts: You may be thinking… brussels sprouts? That’s an interesting choice. Well, these are surprisingly good! They are super crispy and served with peppers and a sriracha cream sauce. Fair warning, they are fried, but that might be why they taste so good!
Soft Pretzel Bites: These bite sized pretzels come with a warm cheddar dipping sauce. Enough said!
Crispy Cheddar Burger: Unlike a traditional cheeseburger where the cheese is melted over the burger, this one has a crisped piece of cheddar on top. It’s a great spin on a classic burger!
Spiced Apple Salad: Fresh and delicious! This is an arugula based salad with dried cranberries, cheddar cheese and sliced apples topped with an apple pie vinaigrette!
Insider Tip: At Topnotch Resort, you can roast your own s’mores at the outdoor fire pit for dessert! They don’t have them on the menu at the Roost, but you can ask your server or just walk over to the fine dining restaurant, Flannel, and purchase a kit! They include the basics (graham crackers, chocolate & marshmallows) and also provide a nice roasting stick for you!
