Picnic Social

stowe food guide by eatstoweJuly 2, 2017January 22, 2018

One of Stowe’s newest restaurants is Picnic Social, which is located in the recently renovated Field Guide Hotel. Lark Hotels, a boutique New England hotel chain, has done a fabulous job renovating the property, and Picnic Social has been quickly becoming a local hot spot. It’s a great atmosphere, with cozy and comfortable décor and fun games like Shuffleboard to play while waiting for your food! It’s a great spot for both families and for couples looking for a fun date night!

Spicy Cider Wings: These wings are the best in Stowe, and that’s saying something since we’ve got a lot of tasty wings! The blend of sweet chili, lime, soy sauce and sriracha makes them perfectly sweet and spicy!

PS Burger: Chef Justin Perdue nailed this one by adding a special sauce which gives this classic dish a unique twist. It’s a must try if you like burgers!

Cheese Plate: It’s not your average cheese plate. It comes with three cheeses, fresh bread, a delicious date banana jam and a handful of spiced pecans. It’s delicious.

Smashed Fingerling Potatoes: These are the Picnic Social version of french fries. They are awesome and a great add on to any of their dishes.

Hummus: It’s served with freshly baked Naan bread… enough said 🙂

Insider Tip: The food at Picnic Social is perfect for sharing. I love to order a bunch of food for the table, and nosh on different things. They do have entrée type meals, but there are so many good options it is hard to pick just one! Another tip, the food is not coursed, so it will come out as soon as it is done cooking. If you are looking for more of a traditional first course and second course meal, order strategically. I typically order a few things as appetizers and then order another round of food after I receive the first course. Food comes out quickly, so don’t feel too rushed to order all at once!

We also featured Picnic Social in our Brunch guide, so be sure to check that out as well!
